What happens to what you send us.

In plain words. We're a small company in Austin, Texas, in development, with no customers yet. If anything here is unclear, write to human@thinkinghumans.com. A person reads every message.

What we collect.

If you book an AI Readiness Check
Your name, email address and company, and, if you give them, your phone number and what eats the most hours.
If you run the 2-minute report
Your company's name and website, its industry and number of sites, the desks and kinds of system you tick, what your customers' terms allow, and anything you write about your time. If you ask us to email it, your email address.
If you use the chat
What you type.
From any visit
What every website receives: your internet address, your browser, the time, and where your visit came from (see "In your browser" below).

Who runs what.

This website
Vercel hosts the pages and runs the forms.
The chat and the 2-minute report
What you type goes from Vercel through a relay server we rent in Germany to our own servers in Austin, Texas, where an open model writes the answer. For the report, we also read the public home page of the website you name.
Our Google ad
We run an ad on Google Search. Only if you reach this site by clicking that ad, the pages you see in that visit load Google's ad tag, set so that it stores no cookies. When you send an AI Readiness Check request, it tells Google that a request was sent, so we can see whether the ad works. It never sends your name, your email or anything you type. A visit that doesn't start from our ad loads nothing from Google.
Email
Once email is switched on, requests and reports are sent by Resend, an email service, from its EU region. Until then, the request form opens your own email app and you send it yourself. Our team mailbox is hosted by Google.

What we keep.

An AI Readiness Check request
It reaches our team mailbox by email: the answers you gave, your 2-minute report if you ran one, and where your visit came from (a link's campaign tags, the name of the site that sent you, and the first page you saw). To answer it, Si may draft our reply on our own servers in Austin; the founder checks and sends every reply. We keep the request in the mailbox while we're talking with you, and delete it when you ask.
A 2-minute report
We sign it, so we can tell later that it's ours, and send it back to your browser. We don't store it on our side. If you ask us to email it, it goes to you, with a copy to our team mailbox.
The chat
There's no account and no chat history: the website doesn't save your conversation. Our servers' technical logs can hold parts of a request for a while (see Logs). It's a public demo, so please don't paste customer drawings or anything confidential.
Logs
The website, the relay and our servers in Austin keep ordinary technical logs, such as the time of a request and the address it came from, to keep them running and to stop abuse. The forms also count requests from each address for a short while, in memory, for the same reason. The code behind our forms and chat doesn't write what you type into its logs. Logs are kept for a limited time; we'll say how long here once we've checked each one.
In your browser
A few small things stay on your own device: where your visit came from (until you close the tab), your last 2-minute report this visit, and settings such as a notice you closed. They leave your device only inside a request you send.

What we never do.

We never use what visitors type to train any model.

We never sell or rent your details, and we don't add anyone to a mailing list.

No tracking cookies. No ad trackers, with one exception: a visit that starts from a click on our own Google ad, as "Our Google ad" above says. If we switch on Vercel Web Analytics, it counts visits and a few button clicks without cookies and never records what you type. The footer of every page says when it's on.

We don't track anyone across other sites, and no other company collects data about you across sites through this one, apart from what Google sees of a visit that starts from our ad. So a browser's Do Not Track signal changes nothing here: every visit is treated the same way.

Ask to see, correct or delete it.

Write to human@thinkinghumans.com from the address you used, and say what you'd like to see, correct or delete. We'll do it and tell you when it's done. We aim to reply within one business day.

If this page changes.

The date at the top changes, and we say here what changed.
